INFINITE LIGHT
A PHOTOGRAPHIC MEDITATION ON TIBET
Marissa Roth calls this project, her love letter to Tibet. Venturing there in 2007 and 2010, she chose to photograph with Kodachrome film on both trips, and created this visually poetic ethnographic study. The 72 images that make up this photographic meditation unfurl in a color sequence akin to the Tibetan prayer flags. The book, Infinite Light: A Photographic Meditation on Tibet, with a foreword by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, was published in 2014. This project is currently a traveling exhibition.
Roth states that this project is a reflection of her inner and outer journeys to this land and a personal impressionistic view of what it feels like to be in Tibet. It is also a social and political statement and another cry for awareness about what is being irrevocably lost.
